GLENDALE, Colo. - USA Rugby High Performance has received a grant from the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee to support technology and innovation related to improving athlete performance. The grant supports an Eagle to Lan hardware to improve athlete monitoring and increase productivity in talent identification, development and competition feedback.
Officially awarded at the end of 2020, Eagle to Lan is the second Technology and Innovation project supported by the USOPC who awarded a 2019 installment for an Operational & Strategic software database. The software was used to monitor the existing Olympic player pool.
Led by JD Stephenson, General Manager of High Performance Pathways, the 2020 Eagle to Lan hardware aids in providing performance feedback and learning during competitions and events. Together with the Operational & Strategic software, both assets play an important role in building efficient and effective systems to reach performance related goals in the Olympic year.
Stephenson said:
“The Eagle To Lan initiative will have an immediate impact on the turnaround times and performance of our Olympic programs. We are extremely appreciative of the USOPC and those generous individuals who made this a reality by awarding the grant. This hardware will go hand in hand with the existing Operational and Strategic software database that we received funding for last year.”
Established in 2017, the USOPC's Technology & Innovation Fund supports performance-impacting projects related to the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games. It also enhances long-term integration into each NGBs performance planning to optimize the opportunity for success at the Games.
