The USA Men’s U23s Sevens program is returning to Glendale, Colorado, this week to defend their title at the 2024 RugbyTown 7s, the benchmark tournament where developing American players have the chance to play against current and former Olympians from around the world.
Coming off a win in 2023 and with USA Sevens beginning their build toward LA 2028, this year’s RugbyTown 7s is a chance for pipeline players to compete against some of the world’s best as the future of the USA Sevens program.
This year’s squad features a few returning players from last year’s champion roster. Jake Broselle, Darius Law, and Uluamu Niutupuivaha return to Infinity Park. Niutupuivaha joins off the back of play with Anthem Rugby Carolina, the newest MLR franchise while Keelan Farrell also joins form the 15s side this summer, showing well with the Men’s U20s during the World Rugby Trophy. With a great mix of club and collegiate players assembling in Colorado, Head Coach Colton Cariaga and staff have another positive opportunity to develop and identify at the very start of this new Olympic cycle.
Head Coach Colton Cariaga said, “With LA 2028 on the horizon, it’s an exciting and important time for this age group. We aim to continue expanding the talent pool that feeds into the Eagles while developing the capabilities of the team and players chosen. We are grateful for RugbyTown 7s as it allows many American players and coaches to come together, compete and learn alongside quality touring sides.”
The U23s sevens begin their RugbyTown 7s tournament against the Casanovas at 3:30pm ET on Friday, August 23, live on RugbyTown's website and app.
