GLENDALE, CO. (July 15, 2021) - With just two weeks until rugby competition begins in Tokyo, fans can now purchase official Canterbury replica jerseys featuring the name and number of all 15 USA Sevens National Team players who will compete in Japan this month. Jerseys are priced at $149.99 on worldrugbyshop.com.

A first-of-its-kind collaboration between USA Rugby, World Rugby Shop and the U.S. Rugby Players Association (USRPA), personalized jerseys offer direct support to national team players where every sale delivers a royalty to athletes for merchandise that is officially licensed by the union and USRPA.

Fans can purchase personal jerseys for all 15 players heading to Tokyo, with additional athletes from the 2020-21 USA Sevens residency program and USA Men’s and Women’s XVs players to be added later on.

USA Men’s Sevens Captain and USRPA Rep Madison Hughes said:

“This is a huge step for rugby players in the United States. For years, our fans have asked for ways to support national team players in the same way they can for other mainstream sports in the USA. It is fantastic to see this collaboration help players financially and enhance the rugby experience.”

USA Women’s Sevens player and USRPA Rep Ilona Maher said:

“We’re excited to have this opportunity not just as players but to increase the opportunities we have to engage with our fans. There’s nothing better than looking up into the crowd and seeing our community chanting ‘U-S-A’. To know they can now do that in an Eagles jersey with their favorite player’s name and number is special.”

Both teams arrive in Japan today, spending the first week in Mimasaka before heading to the host city for the Opening Ceremony. The USA Men will play from July 26-28, facing Kenya, South Africa and Ireland in Pool C. Women’s competition runs July 29-31 with Team USA facing China, Australia and hosts Japan in Pool C. All matches are broadcast on NBC Sports Networks.
