Head coach, Sione Fukofuka and staff has named the USA Women's Eagles roster to face Fiji on Saturday, July 19, at a sold-out Audi Field in Washington D.C.
This match comes off the back of last night’s exciting Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Squad Announcement and will feature players all ready to pack their bags for England,
It also headlines a Double-header, with the USA Men's Eagles taking on England. Fans can watch the women live from 2:00 PM ET on CBS and Paramount+.
An exciting chance to catch the RWC 2025 squad in action, this fixture will also be the final home match for the USA Women’s Eagles playing for American fans before their send off to England.
A fitting return to the match day 23 sees Georgie Perris-Redding named to the reserves, after a comeback from injury having last represented the USA in 2024 when USA took on Australia to secure their berth into this year’s upcoming Women’s Rugby World Cup.
Head Coach Sione Fukofuka commented;
"Fiji are an exciting team that plays with unpredictability and physicality. They have a game style that centers around their scrum and a strong forward pack who like to be direct. We are excited to take this challenge on and show our strengths within our pack and unleash our backline."
"We have come into camp with a clear understanding of what we needed to improve from our previous performances and have worked hard to make those changes," Fukofuka continued. "We have a strong team first mentality where our individual performance is focused on earning a team result. The team has been working hard on our detail, our accuracy and our execution across 80 minutes and is excited to showcase this against Fiji this Saturday."
The team will travel to Canada for one final preparatory match before they depart to Engalnd for an acclimatization camp ahead of the Rugby World Cup. The Eagles will open their Rugby World Cup campaign against host nation England, followed by Pool A matches against Australia and Samoa, as they vie for a coveted spot in the semifinals.
