USA Men's Eagles Sevens compete on North American soil in Vancouver for the fourth stop on the HSBC SVNS Series.

The USA are chasing improvements from their recent performance in Perth where they had some close contests including a win over Argentina. The young squad will need to hit the ground running joining a challenging, yet exciting Pool C that will see them take on two of the top three ranked teams in the series. The USA men will kick off Friday, Feb 21 at 2:40pm ET against Spain in Pool C. All action will be live on RugbyPass TV.

Head Coach Simon Amor commented on the teams’ preparation as they hit the halfway mark of the season. “Going into Perth we were focused on how we could consistently be in the fight against the best teams in the world - and we certainly achieved that with one score games in every single match. This block, looking forward to Vancouver, we focused on how to consistently win those fights when we are in tight games, and make up those three-point differentials that are the difference between winning and loosing.

"We've made significant progress in establishing our desired style of play as we hit the season's halfway mark. Our fitness and decision making have all taken remarkable steps up, but we know we still need to bridge that gap with some of the best teams in the world.

"Our younger players, particularly Will Chevalier and Jack Wendling, who Co-Captained in Perth have made some great strides in their performance. A bit more overall consistency in this block, without disruptions from the flu or injuries has also allowed us to have back to back training days with the full squad. This is encouraging, but also makes for a more challenging selection process.”

The USA Men make up Pool C alongside Fiji, Spain and Uruguay. Opening their campaign, the Eagles will take on third ranked Spain in the teams’ first meeting this year. Next up for the Eagles, the Flying Fijians - in what is always an exciting opportunity to face off against some of the most dynamic players in the series. The pool finale will be a contentious meet up for the USA against Uruguay, who sit just above the Eagles in the overall rankings.
