The USA Men’s Sevens have had a roller coaster first year of this new Olympic cycle with a new roster of young talent getting their first taste of the SVNS stage and injury hurdles.

All the ups and downs however, will culminate in the opportunity to perform at home this weekend in Los Angeles. With friends and family lining the stands at Dignity Health Sports Park, the Men’s Sevens are ready to put their best on the line in front of those they play for. The HSBC SVNS World Championship is set to kickoff Saturday at 1:00PM ET with tickets still available for USA fans to jump in and support both squads, at lasevensrugby.com. Head Coach Simon Amor said on the final stop at home, “Obviously the players a really excited about playing in the home tournament, they’ve been working incredibly hard getting real clarity about what we need to do to be successful in this important tournament. So we’ve spent a lot of time analyzing our pool opposition and the important tactics. It’s clear we don’t have to do anything particularly special; we just need to nail the basics at a world class level.

We’ve grown so much over the season with our younger players, so we’re looking forward to putting in the best performance of the year and give the home crowd something to cheer for.”

The Men’s Sevens will play their pool games on Pitch 2 at Dignity Health Sports Park, facing off with Portugal, Samoa and Kenya. The United States has a long exciting playing history with Samoa and Kenya, two teams that have been on the Challenger Series this year, so both match ups bring a great energy to USA Rugby fans in LA.
