Returning to Ottawa since last assembling in 2022, the USA Women’s U20s will face off with Wales and Canada this July, in tandem with the USA Women’s Eagles Pacific Four Series.
The match against Wales will be on July 4 at the Twin Elm Rugby Park, with the second match against rival Canada played as a curtain raiser to the Women’s Eagles test match against Australia on July 8 at TD Place. Tickets to the July 8 match are included in the Pacific Four Series ticket now available at rugby.ca. Rosters and potential streaming information will be communicated when available.
The Women’s U20s last assembled in July 2022, similarly in Ottawa for the Garnet and Gold Classic for a two-match series against the Queen’s Gaels and Ottawa Gee-Gees. An annual opportunity for the next generation of USA Eagles, this tour will offer an added inspiration as the squad competes alongside the USA Senior National Team in a global World Rugby event.
USA Women’s U20s Head Coach Joel Bonnaud said ahead of returning to Ottawa, “Our roster has a great blend of Pathway experience, with players coming from 17 different clubs. As a result, I’m looking forward to seeing how they will utilize our structure on and off the field to come together, leverage our camp theme to take ownership, and eventually grow as decision makers.
“Competing against age-grade peers from other countries is critical to our players' development. It allows them to discover new styles of play, gauge where they stand on the international scene, assess the work to be done on their Pathway so they can be successful when they reach the Senior squad.”
