Originally from California, Alex Wantlin first played rugby at a very early age with the San Clemente Gators U6 program after a family friend saw her beating the boys in street football suggested trying out for the rugby team. Wantlin would eventually find her way to the USA Women's Sevens through sevens powerhouse Life University and ARPTC high performance program, Captaining the team at the age of 18.
Catching the eye of USA Rugby pathways, Wantlin joined the U187s in 2018 for a tour of Canada after earning High School All American honors. Outside playing, Alex can also be found referring and coaching rugby at home in Florida.
