Amanda Berta
Born in New York and raised in Connecticut, Amanda Berta was a multi-sport athlete in both High School and College while at Penn State University. Balancing a few sports, Berta would follow a short period on the soccer team with rugby and first took the pitch in 2016 with the D1 Elite program. Continuing to rise the rugby ranks on the club scene with New England and the Chicago Lions, Berta was selected to compete with the Next Olympic Hopeful in 2017, and again in 2019 - a program led by Team USA to identify top talent across Olympic sports.
Balancing rugby and occupation, Berta is an avid CrossFit athlete and named an alternate to the CrossFit Games in 2021, while also a Project Engineering Manager for GE Renewable Energy.
Catching the eye of USA Rugby, Amanda was invited to USA Sevens residency in 2018, traveling with the USA Falcons Sevens tour of Japan the same year. Returning to the club scene, Berta competed with the Chicago Lions, Rhinos Rugby and broke out as a top talent with Premier Rugby Sevens in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Switching pitches to the 15s camp, Amanda earned an invite to the USA Women's Eagles UK tour in 2024, debuting against South Africa that March.
