A long-time player, Tala Talapusi attended a Boys High-School All-American camp in 2015 where he began to further advance his skills in elite rugby. Helping Penn Green soar to a championship title at the NorCal Sevens Championships a year later, Talapusi's talents as an athlete continued to emerge.
In 2018, he joined the Men's Sevens for high performance training camp and even played with Tiger Rugby during the 2018 Hong Kong 10s tournament. Then, after making a considerable impression on Head Coach Mike Friday, Talapusi was selected to make his international debut as the 13th man for the 2018 HSBC Singapore Sevens tournament.
