Freda Tafuna

Freda Tafuna first stepped on the rugby pitch at the age of 16 while enrolled at Villa Park High School in her hometown of Santa Ana, CA. With her sister encouraging her to start playing, Tafuna quickly made her way to the top of the game and eventually to rugby powerhouse Lindenwood University, winning a pair of D1 Elite National Championships and Collegiate All American honors in 2021.

Tafuna was invited to play with the U23s during the 2023 tour of Brazil, catching the eye of the Women's Eagles and earning an invite to the Pacific Four Series only a month later. She would start against Australia for her senior national team debut, and score her first try the following week against the New Zealand Black Ferns.
