Jess Lu

Jess Lu grew up playing soccer and basketball before discovering rugby in high school in China, as a sport that combined various athletic elements. She played in her first organized game at the age of 14 at Shanghai American School and continued while attending college at Princeton University.

While at Princeton, Lu was MVP for three years and played with the 15s U23s program and was named to the Collegiate All-Americans Honors list in 2015, 2016, and 2018.

She was identified by USA Rugby during her time with Premier Rugby Sevens and playing with Scion Rugby. She joined USA Sevens residency in February 2023, making appearances on the USA Falcons squad in December 2023 in Dubai, all before making her offical senior squad debut with the USA Women's Eagles Sevens in Singapore 2024.
