Malon Al-Jiboori began playing rugby at 16, encouraged by his brother who also played in high school. Also a former American Football player, Jiboori excelled in rugby and earned selections to USA Rugby's High School (2015), Junior (2016) and Collegiate (2017) All-American teams as he rose through the player pathway. He was also earned a Captaincy with the Junior All-Americans in 2016.

In 2017, Al-Jiboori made his national team debut with the Men's Eagles Sevens at the HSBC Singapore Sevens tournament. The athletes tried his hand in 15s as well when he debuted for the Men's Eagles (15s) against Chile in the Americas Rugby Championship 2018 and scored his first try within ten seconds.

As a crossover athlete for both sevens and fifteens national teams, Al-Jiboori helped the USA earn their first-ever Gold medal on home soil at the HSBC USA Sevens in Las Vegas and a second-consecutive Americas Rugby Championship title (15s), both in 2018.
