Fa'avesi is the youngest of seven children born to a family of rugby players. She played basketball growing up and focused on rugby at Luther Burbank High School, where the 2010 team won a championship.
Fa'avesi moved on to play with the Sacramento Amazons for four years where she was identified by Women's Sevens coaches. From there, she was invited to a development camp and made her debut at Dubai Sevens 2014.
After helping the U.S. qualify for the Olympics during the 2015 NACRA Sevens Championships, Fa'avesi won a Silver Medal with the Women's Sevens at the Toronto Pan Am Games. In 2016, she was an easy selection to Team USA's 12 player roster for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Two years later and after completing service as part of the Army World Class Athlete Program, Fa'avesi was named to the first ever U.S. hosted Rugby World Cup at Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco.
