Peter Sio Jr comes from a rugby family, following his uncle's footsteps who also played for the USA Men's Sevens. Sio came up through the Belmont Shore system at a young age, eventually enrolling at Long Beach State to play college rugby.
Sio caught the eye of USA Rugby scouts in 2021, invited to high performance camps in both sevens and 15s, playing for the Falcons in 2023 for the Coral Coast 7s in Fiji. His pace and agility led to an invite to National Team residency in 2024, where he would make his HSBC SVNS debut in Dubai that year.
