Porter Goodrum grew up in North Carolina where he put a focus on rugby with the Charlotte Tigers before jumping to the high performance pathway with the Eagle Impact Rugby Academy. Touring with EIRA and making a break on the scene, Porter moved overseas to Wales to enroll with Cardiff Met University to continue developing in rugby.
In 2021, Goodrum was invited to the USA Rugby High Performance Pathway camp in Glendale, CO which put him on the Eagle radar. Three years later Porter was named to his first Senior National Team roster in 2024, making his HSBC SVNS debut in Dubai.
