Growing up in Portland, OR, Suiluana "Sui" A'au comes from a rugby family, as one of three sisters to debut for the USA Rugby National Team, alongside Tiana and Tiara. Playing rugby alongside softball and basketball at Jefferson High School, and then onto a starting roles at Central Washington University, A'au was named to USA U18 and U20 rosters and Collegiate All American honors on her way to the USA Sevens camp.
In 2021, Sui would join a number of debutants in Dubai for the beginning of the World Rugby Sevens Series, gaining her first sevens cap.
