The USA Men’s U18, U20 and U23 squads are inbound to Amsterdam this week to compete in the Corendon Summer Tour against other international sides from Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic and northern rival Canada.

Men’s High Performance Pathways Manager Brendan Keane today confirmed the traveling rosters for each squad. The USA Men’s U18 and U20 teams will play three matches on July 9, July 13, and July 16, with the U23 squad playing two matches on July 9 and 16, respectively. Live stream information and an official match schedule for the Corendon Summer Tour has not yet been confirmed but will be shared should that become available. USA Rugby would also like to thank Piedmont Door Solutions and all of our generous donors who made this tour and experience possible.

USA Men’s Pathways Director, Brendan Keane noted on the roster selections:

“Selections for USA Junior National Teams have become increasingly competitive. The selections for this tour are the culmination of the identification and development work done over years, but for this group of players especially, the past 15 months since rugby has really been back active nationwide. There are players who have entered the pathway from a variety of avenues, many through the Talent Identification Camps in 2021 and 2022, others who were spotted by Eagle Eye Scouts and National Team coaches or referred from National Development Programs. Some quality players were also submitted through the independent nomination process, along with US qualified players who have been referred from overseas. Every avenue saw some quality players coming through.

Ultimately, these are development teams and the players who have been selected to them are players who have shown themselves to be deserving of representing their country this summer and continued development in the USA Player Pathway through this tour. The 2027 and 2031 Rugby World Cups will be here before we know it and players in these age groups will be vital to our success.”

Alongside the traveling rosters to Amsterdam, additional players across the three age groups are training at the Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, CA this summer with sevens, and still others will come through the USA Rugby and World Rugby Combine toward the end of July with hopes of being invited to the USA National Academy in the fall.
