The annual end of year camp in preparation for the Global Youth Sevens was a continued success in Chula Vista, inviting 29 U18 prospects to train under Senior National Team coaching.

In the echoes of the 2025 SVNS season beginning to make noise on it’s return, the USA Rugby High Performance Pathways keep their eye focused on the future with a development camp to bring together the best identified players in the Men’s sevens pipeline. Following a similar camp the month prior from the Women’s pathway, this group of 29 came into the Elite Athlete Training Center looking to put their hand up for selection to the 2024 Global Youth Sevens tournament in New Zealand.

Head Coach David Fee said on the development assembly, “We want to find kids who have the potential to wear an Eagle Jersey in the future. The event provides quality competition and has resulted in over fifty players going on to represent their nation at Sevens, Super Rugby or national representation in XV’s. Currently ten of the contracted Australian woman’s team have played at the World School Sevens, and we've seen guys like Lucas Lacamp perform well, and now we're seeing Noah Brown, Darius Law, and Peyton Wall come onto the international and professional scene as well.

“Thanks to the generous contributions of the US Rugby Foundation, the Golden Eagles and countless others - we can provide a valuable step in that journey.”

Global Youth Sevens is set to compete Dec 12-13 in Auckland, New Zealand. Friends and family can watch live on NZR+.
