Twenty-three players arrive in Brazil this weekend to play two exhibition matches as the USA Women’s Falcons. The team will play two games against Brazil, giving athletes in the broader playing pool an opportunity to play internationally.
The traveling squad is composed of players from the USA Eagles player pool as well as invites from the U23 and U20 programs. Nine USA Eagles along with several names from the USA Women’s Eagles player pool head to Brazil.
The games will be played on June 11 and June 13. Hosts Brazil will not be providing a livestream; score updates will be available on USA Rugby channels.
USA Eagle Alum Sarah Chobot will lead the team as Head Coach. Chobot joins the USA camp from the American Raptors coaching group.
“The selection process for this traveling roster was in collaboration with our pathway coaches and national team staff. We are excited to see the players who made the trip as it's an exciting blend of national team players and upcoming pathway players. We also are working to expand our pool of coaches and support staff and it is exciting to provide opportunities for them with this tour.
This tour is another step in progressing the development and creating opportunities for the players in America. While the short turnaround from PAC4 and the timing of this tour with college graduations and other important life milestones that happen this time of year was a challenge, we will keep creating more opportunities for players to play rugby.”
