USA Women's Falcons Sevens Set for NextGen 7s in Langford

The USA Women's Falcons Sevens are gearing up this morning for NextGen 7s, taking place this weekend at the Starlight Stadium in Langford, British Columbia. Twelve players will have the opportunity to represent the Falcons on the pitch.

The USA Women's Falcons Sevens roster was selected through performance across PR7s, college, and additional USA Rugby High Performance pathways. Sue Adegoke, Autumn Locicero, and Alex Wantlin join the Falcons squad fresh off a 2023 Premier Sevens National Championship win in Houston. Autumn Czaplicki is currently in residency with the USA Women's Sevens program and recently returned from Spain after earning her first Women's 15s cap in Spain.

NextGen 7s is an annual women's development competition, aimed at creating international experience for up and coming prospects across the USA and Canada. Three teams from Canada will be playing in the four-team tournament. Streaming is not provided, but fans can follow USA Rugby on social media for score updates and coverage.

"The team invested time in virtual meetings in the weeks prior to landing in Victoria and had two field sessions yesterday to prepare for the weekend. The afternoon session included a run though with the Maple Leafs giving us a peak at the pace and intensity of the games ahead. 

NextGen provides the USA Falcons an opportunity to accelerate individual learning, while highlighting the potential of this Academy team as a whole. We are excited to see their progression over the course of the two-day tournament.
