HANOVER, NH. - 44 Women's Collegiate All-Americans have completed a five day training camp focused on talent development and verification at Dartmouth College. Exposing athletes to a high intensity training environment, the camp — which began on June 19 — allowed players to test their individual strengths under the direction of experienced coaches and staff who placed an emphasis on meeting the demands of senior international competition.

From the assembly, 8-10 athletes will receive an invitation to the senior women's training camp in August; with opportunities for selection to the North American Four tournament on offer, as well. Additionally, coaches and staff will continue their evaluation of players to create a U23 depth chart, also making note of those who display the potential to medal at the 2021 World Cup.

Over the course of the five days, players underwent a comprehensive training regimen that included trial games and meetings with coaches and staff to create individual development plans. As a whole, the camp focused directly on building depth for the women's program, providing critical insight into bridging the gap between the collegiate and senior national levels.

Additionally, the camp was an opportunity for coaches and players to work within the vision of newly appointed Women's National Team Head Coach Rob Cain, who will begin full-time in the United States at the end of the month.

"Been a really successful Collegiate All-American camp. We have challenged the players' mindsets and skill sets with lots of positive results,' says Cain. "I have been hugely impressed not only by the players work ethic and willingness to learn but also their ability to problem solve. They have worked hard, had fun and now understand the level of detail they need in their game. I want to thank all the staff for all their hard work, just like the players they have challenged themselves and had fun doing it.'

All 44 Collegiate All-Americans selected were strong representations of the top performing athletes in the country; with several chosen through an open nomination process that took place earlier this year. Given players in camp had already displayed elite athletic abilities, coaches and staff worked to build on existing skills while also educating participants the steps needed to continue performing at a high level.

The Women's Collegiate All-American program is a substantial contributor to the senior Women's National Team player pool. In order for athletes to find success within the women's pathway, monetary support is crucial from the greater community.
